Gary graduated summa cum laude from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Economics. He obtained his Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Florida as well as a Master of Business Administration.
He has practiced throughout the state of Florida, from Pensacola to Miami and all stops in between. Admitted to The Florida Bar, Gary is admitted to practice before all trial and appellate state courts in the State of Florida. He is also admitted to practice and has appeared in all Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts in the State of Florida.
Having experience in both large firms and small firms, he and three other attorneys started a firm in 2008. Then in the Spring of 2012, he began his solo practice as Gary L. Butler, P.A.
Aside from his work as a lawyer, Gary is an active member of Pasadena Community Church, a United Methodist church. Gary has served on several elected leadership committees. Currently, he serves on the Church Council, the governing committee of the church, and is the immediate past Chair of the Council. He also co-chaired the Long-Range Planning Committee that was tasked with assessing and re-configuring Church buildings and real estate to optimally fulfill the Church’s mission in the 21st Century. Now that the Committee’s long-range plan was adopted by the Church, he continues to serve on the Building Oversight Committee that is overseeing the sale of property and construction of renovations to the existing buildings. For over two decades, he has been a small group leader for high school boys and chaperoned many mission trips with the high school youth program. Furthering his passion for the future, he led the creation of the Church’s NexGen ministry for young adults and continues to assist with that ministry.
